Team Museum Rotterdam takes action for charity during the KiKa Triathlon Rotterdam

On Saturday 21 June, Team Museum Rotterdam will take part in the KiKa Triathlon Rotterdam. With three relay teams, nine colleagues from the museum will make a sporting effort for KiKa, raising money for research into childhood cancer. Their participation is not only about the sporting challenge, but also about strengthening connection within the museum team. Museum Rotterdam is currently in a special phase: the museum recently received the keys to its new location in Het Steiger. Participation in the KiKa Triathlon fits well with the enthusiasm and strong team spirit within the team as they prepare for this new step.

Initiative

The initiative to take part came from office manager Duy, who has worked at Museum Rotterdam since 2022. Driven by his enthusiasm for sport and collaboration, he brought colleagues together to participate in KiKa’s relay triathlon. In this team format, three participants divide the full triathlon between them: 1.5 kilometres of swimming, 40 kilometres of cycling, and 10 kilometres of running. What started as an idea for a sporty team activity grew into broad participation from the museum. As many as nine colleagues are taking part, divided into three teams. The colleagues will appear at different stages of the event: swimming; Janneke, Nikki, and Daan, cycling; Erna, Sien, and Rob, running; Leonie, Samuel, and Duy.

Initiator Duy Ngo said: “The KiKa Triathlon Relay is a sporting setting in which we work together, with an extra special goal: raising money for KiKa. Not only the participating colleagues play an important role in this, but also all colleagues, friends, and supporters along the sidelines who cheer us on enthusiastically. It will be an unforgettable day that greatly strengthens team spirit as we move towards our new museum location in Het Steiger.”

Supporters are warmly welcome to come and cheer on Team Museum Rotterdam during the triathlon on Saturday 21 June at the Willem-Alexander Rowing Course in Rotterdam.

Times and additional information will be announced approximately two weeks before the event via the team page. Museum Rotterdam will also provide a fun surprise for visitors and supporters on the day.
